From Manuscript to Print: Self-Publishing Prepress Workshop
Come along to our prepress workshop with Dettori Publishing to learn about indie book publishing and printing.

Writing is only half the story when it comes to publishing and printing your own book. For indie authors, the journey of self-publishing will lead you down a variety of different paths with a whole bunch of technical and industry stops along the way. From design to typesetting, marketing to printing, there’s plenty more than meets the eye when self-publishing a book. That’s why we’re joining forces with Ann Dettori, CEO of Dettori Publishing, to bring you our in-person prepress workshop in Melbourne on July 25th. Called ‘From Manuscript to Print’, this workshop is for all aspiring self-published authors and designed to help you transform your book from a draft on a computer to a paper-bound parcel you can hold in your hands.

About Ann Dettori, Founder of Dettori Publishing
For the unacquainted, Ann Dettori is the founder and CEO of Dettori Publishing, an organisation that oversees both Post Pre-press Group and Independent Ink. Across both businesses, Dettori Publishing works to support both traditional publishing companies and corporations (Post Pre-press Group) and indie authors in self-publishing (Independent Ink). Ann Dettori is also the author of The Entrepreneurs’ Guide to Self-Publishing, a helpful step-by-step guide of the self-publishing process. With an insight into publishing on both sides of the traditional and indie spectrum, Ann’s experience and expertise in the publishing industry is invaluable for prospective self-published authors who want to self-pubish their work and have their stories read.

Ann’s decorated publishing experience extends beyond just bringing manuscripts to life. A previous board member of Queensland Writers Centre, a frequent judge for the Australian Business Book Awards and a regular volunteer at the Brisbane Writers Festival, Ann’s visit to Melbourne for this special-edition workshop will be a treat for any local budding writers who are wanting to learn more about the behind-the-scenes work of self-publishing and printing their own book.
