Our Environmental Promise
At the heart of everything we do lies a simple truth: great printing doesn't have to cost the earth. We believe that exceptional quality and environmental stewardship aren't competing priorities but complementary values that drive innovation and create lasting impact.
Our core value of Purpose-driven Printing isn't just a tagline carved into our lobby wall. We create every print with intention, quality, and eco-conscious care to reduce our impact on the environment and maximise value for our clients, community, and the planet.

From Forest to Finished Product
Our paper selection includes many with the most well-known authorities on environmental certification. We offer an extensive range of FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC™ (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified papers, ensuring that every sheet traces back to responsibly managed forests.
Our sustainable paper portfolio includes carbon-neutral options that offset their environmental impact through verified carbon reduction programs, plus 100% recycled paper that gives post-consumer waste a second life. When we say 100% recycled, we mean paper made entirely from materials that have already served their first purpose, preventing them from entering landfills and reducing demand for virgin fibre production.
Paper Recycling: The Second Act
While we always intend to produce books to last the test of time, part of the book-making process also generates high grade waste paper once a book has had its turn at a guillotine station. To make sure this paper doesn’t end up in landfill and can instead take on a new career, we work with an Australian family-owned business with over 25 years of experience in paper recycling. Each week, all our high grade waste paper is collected, shredded, processed, and supplied to local mills to create fresh white copy paper, like the Reflex print packs you can grab at your local office supply store. It's remarkably efficient when you consider that the home and office printer paper you might throw in the recycling bin after use was already made with materials and can continue to be recycled into other new products afterwards.
Our local paper recycling partner is one of many organisations we regularly work with to give materials a second life. For instance, our inkjet printers use non-hazardous ink, meaning empty bottles can be sent to recycling just like you would with a milk bottle, giving them a second life. We also send used toner cartridges to multiple recycling programs led by Ricoh (Consumable Recycling Program) and Konica Minolta (Close the Loop). These programs allow collected cartridges to undergo complete material recovery—ensuring zero waste to landfill or incineration.
Advanced Printing Technology for Optimised Recycling
To ensure that we maximise the recycling capabilities of our paper cutoffs once it leaves our factory, we've made strategic investments in the latest machines that support material recovery. Our fleet of digital printers are all built to optimise the critical deinking process that separates and removes ink from paper fibres to produce clean, high-quality recycled materials. Every printer has been certified and achieved high ratings in rigorous deinkability assessments that test their compatibility to generate prints that can be recycled more easily.
Choosing to use these sustainability-enabled printers is one way we embody our ‘Purpose-driven Printing’ value, as we commit to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment. When you choose Foliofox, you're not just investing in high-quality book printing made with materials designed for multiple lifecycles, but also in the many processes that reduce waste and increase the industry’s sustainability efforts.
