When it comes to the Dandenong Ranges’ literary scene, you can expect nothing short of something magical. This October 9 to 11, the region is host to the spectacular Dandenong Ranges Literary Festival, and we’re proud to announce that FolioFox is part of the team to bring the festival to life.
Across three days and twelve sessions over the course of the weekend, multiple venues throughout Belgrave in the Dandenong Ranges will feature a range of literary events, talks, panels, workshops and presentations. Renowned authors, thinkers and creatives will appear across the festival’s events, from national icons like journalist and writer Chris Hammer on opening night to stalwart literary figures like author Sally Hepworth, plus plenty more top-notch literary icons.

After a successful inaugural year in 2025, the Dandenong Ranges Literary Festival is back for another weekend of community connection through storytelling. Ignited by a vision to celebrate writers in and around the Dandenong Ranges, the festival is focused on inspiring and teaching new writers, showcasing all literary styles - from crime fiction to graphic novels - and propelling literary debate and conversation.
As a festival with strong ties to the local community and the beautiful environment in which the events of the weekend take place, one of the core values of the Dandenong Ranges Literary Festival is ethical and sustainable production. For newcomers to the festival, you can expect a series of events that are established with integrity, safety, respect and value.
